Mae Côr Meibion Caerfyrddin

wedi bod yn rhan annatod o fywyd cerddorol yr ardal ers dros hanner canrif, ac yn ystod y ddau ddegawd diwethaf mae’r côr wedi ymweld â nifer o wledydd tramor megis Llydaw, Yr Almaen, Yr Iseldiroedd, Canada, ac Iwerddon (2016).

Er bod y côr yn brysur yn cefnogi elusennau yr ardal, maen nhw hefyd wedi neilltuo amser i gymryd rhan yn yr ŵyl i gorau meibion yn yr Albert Hall (2014) yn Llundain ac i gynnal cyngerdd eu hunain yng Nghaerfyrddin, uchafbwynt eu calendr blynyddol.

Eleni (2018) mae'r côr yn dathlu 60 mlynedd ers ei ffurfiant. Bydd Cyngerdd Dathlu yn cael ei gynnal yn y Lyric, Caerfyrddin ar 13eg o Hydref am 7 y.h. gyda chorau lleol eraill yn ymuno a ni ar y llwyfan.

Cymraeg yw iaith gyntaf y mwyafrif o’r cantorion, a maent yn cynrychioli trawsdoriad eang o alwedigaethau. Er taw amaturiaid yw’r cantorion i gyd, mae eu hoffter o ganu a’u brwdfrydedd yn amlwg yn eu hymarfer a’u perfformiadau.

The Carmarthen Male Voice Choir

has been an integral part of the music scene in Carmarthen and its neighbouring villages for over half a century and, during that time, has travelled widely to such countries as Brittany, Germany, Holland, Canada, and Ireland (2016).

Although the choir plays an important role in supporting local charities, it also makes time to participate in the festival for male choirs in the Albert Hall, London (2014) and to hold its own concert in Carmarthen, the highlight of the choir’s calendar. In the past, the choir has had success at the National Eisteddfod.

This year (2018) the choir celebrates its 60th anniversary and will hold a special concert at the Lyric in Carmarthen on October 13th at 7 pm at which other local choirs will join us on stage.

The choristers, the majority of whom have Welsh as their first language, represent a good cross section of occupations and professions. While they are all amateurs, their love of singing and their enthusiasm is apparent both in their rehearsals and their public performances.
